Here's a small self portrait I did in charcoal and chalk while at the Glen Workshop East. I'm happy to report that it has found a good home in Seattle.
My Brother Brian is publishing a book of poems entitled, "Flesh Becomes Word," and I have produced 10 images in charcoal and pencil to be included. The book is being published through local publisher, Dos Madres Press, and will hopefully be done by the end of this summer(2013). My Brother is a wonderful writer and has received his MFA from SPU. You can find out more about him and the other books and periodicals, etc., his work has been published in here.
Here are the pieces I did in no particular order:

Flesh Becomes Word, 6x9, charcoal and pencil

Having Crossed The Sea,  6x9, charcoal and pencil

Luke Remembers, 6x6, charcoal and pencil

Wow, It's been a long time since my last post. Long story short, life has been busy with family and health issues. I wanted to post a few things I have before the gap between posts got even longer.
Above is a charcoal portrait of my good friend Dan. I didn't have good lighting when I took the photos of these, so some areas may seem a little saturated/washed out. The sketches below are of random people when Ihave had chance to draw in public. The painting is a work in progress. I started it earlier this year and had to abandon it, but hope to come back to finishing it soon.

Unveiled

Well, here it is.... First oil painting in two years.
Not sure what to think of it now. Kinda down that it's over, plus I have stared at it for so long, I don't have fresh eyes to see it for what it is. I can only see the place I would have gone back and changed.
Still, I'm happy I did it. I still need a title too. Any suggestions?

Charcoal

So here is the value study for the painting I'm attempting to get done for June 30th.
This study is charcoal on paper 15.25x24. The eventual painting will be 30x47.
Before I mention what I think it's about, I'd like to get your take on it. What do you think?
Also, I need a good title.
Here is the comission I did for a friend of mine. Also in charcoal.
